Winter looks a whole lot like Summer

OK what's the deal?? It has been freakishly warm the last few days. It's like Winter was like, "Peace out peeps, Summer you take over!"...and Summer was like, "Sure, see you on the flip side". (Don't you love that the Seasons can now talk!). Anyway, it has been like 75 degrees in Oakland! 75 degrees! In January!! I had to break out the t-shirts today. It is extremely nice and gorgeous and yay for Vitamin D-filled rays but this is really freaky!! Winter come back, I want to wear my cute tights and sweaters!!! .....(wonders to self how many times one can say "like" in the span of a paragraph and not sound like a Valley girl)

I Judge Books by their Cover

Literally! I freely admit it. When I am looking through a bookstore, I am immediately drawn to a book that has a pretty/and or eye-catching cover and think to myself...with a cover like that the book is bound(no pun intended) to be good. Right. And even if said book turns out to be not so special, at least it will look good on my bookshelf. A win win! Anyway, I digress. The meaning of this post is to share with you a book that I recently read, purchased because of it's cover, that was really good and worth reading. "The Next Thing on My List" is a story with an unfortunate premise (two girls in a car accident, one dies), that turns into a charming and delightful story. I won't give too much away, just in case you for some crazy reason decide to read the book because of this post, but it's about a list. 20 things to do before my 25th birthday and how it changed the life of the woman who wanted to complete it for the other woman who died in the car accident. It sounds a little morbid as I'm writing this, but the story was really funny, endearing and thought-provoking in a lighthearted way. Definitely an entertaining weekend read!

Someday Soon

I usually never make New Year's Resolutions because quite frankly I never ever stick to them (does anyone really)....mostly because they are along the lines of the "I want to lose 10 pounds so I will forbid myself from eating sweets" kind of resolutions!

This year I'm making one that I really,really want to keep. My resolution is to stop talking about "doing", as in things, anything really, and actually do! I have always wanted to go to Paris but end up making excuses as to why I can't, not enough money, not enough time, ummmm Hello, don't speak the language! So this year I resolve to go to Paris! No excuses. It's a pretty sweet New Year's resolution if I do say so myself.
